Anne Frank: Year 8 reading, research and display work

Two or three lessons of work to introduce Year 8 pupils to the story of Anne Frank, used successfully as a supplement to the study of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.
Includes:

• Three short paragraphs of introduction to Anne Frank and her diary
• 13 questions on 6 extracts from the diary (extracts not included) which could be used with a whole class or small groups reporting back
• Teacher’s notes with suggested answers to the 13 questions on the diary extracts
• Suggestions for pupils to do online research using the website of the Anne Frank museum (the website includes a video about Anne and a virtual tour of the Secret Annex)
• Creative task to design a poster to display what you have learned about Anne, with suggestions of what to include
