Used Edwin Starr and Bob Dylan songs to explore anti-war poetry. It was helpful to emphasise rhetorical questions, repetition, rhyme and emotive language. I did embed links for the songs in the powerpoint but these may be out of date by now. Aims to encourage discussion of ‘protesting’ and it’s purpose- was successful . I think this may have been or become a double lesson. Think, Pair, Share used to help students communicate their thoughts and a structured writing task to demonstrate PEEL structure.
