Paper 2 - Approaches
The main resource contains exemplar essays for the standard 8 topics within the approaches module:
- Discuss Wundt’s role in the emergence of psychology as a science (8 marks)
- Outline and evaluate the behaviourist approach (16 marks)
- Outline and evaluate social learning theory (16 marks)
- Outline and evaluate the biological approach (16 marks)
- Outline and evaluate the cognitive approach (16 marks)
- Outline and evaluate the humanistic approach (16 marks)
- Outline and evaluate the psychodynamic approach (16 marks)
- Compare the ‘x’ approach with the ‘y’ approach (16 marks)
Also included seperately are alternatively worded essays that are being introduced more and more by AQA. These can be given to students to challenge them and see how they adapt content to the needs of the questions.
- Discuss the contribution of the cognitive approach to our understanding of human behaviour (16 marks)
- Discuss the role of genotype in human behaviour. Refer to the scenario in your answer (16 marks)
