Sorry to hear you are having difficulty with the tracker. You don't need to have password access to the tracker sheets as all the cells where you enter data are unlocked. The only cells that are locked are ones where you are not supposed to enter data. This is because many cells contain either a formula or a link to a cell on another cell and by having them locked prevents accidentally changing them which would give spurious data.
As far as entering pupil names you only need to do this once on the "Attendance" sheet, after this the names will ripple across automatically onto the other sheets. This attendance sheet is also where you enter the date that a practical was undertaken and whether a student was present with 0 for absent, 1 for present on first sitting or 2 present for the second sitting having missed the first.
The "student summary" sheet is completely locked as it pulls in data from the other sheets and so is for viewing and printing only. If you had access to the cells on this sheet there is a possibility of a cell being altered which would then give spurious data.
For entering the completion of skills in a practical you need to go to the appropriate RP1 to RP12 sheets. You will note that they are now populated with the names and date information that was entered in the attendance sheet. All you need to now do is record the attainment of the skills using:
N - not attained
1- some evidence/partially met
2-criteria full met
A- student was absent.
Having completed the RP criteria details switching to the student summary will pull in that data to provide an overview of each pupil which can be printed out.
I hope this clarifies the process of using the tracker. Further details can also be found in the instructions document which accompanies the tracker when it is downloaded from the TES Resources website.
All the best

Hi Henna the password merely protects the formula and the layout structure of the spreadsheet. All the areas where you enter the actual student data is unprotected. Please read the help file which explains where to enter student details which will then automatically ripple across into the other sheets. Hope this helps John
