To support my students in preparing for the new style AQA A-level (7136) Economics Paper 1 (Markets and market failure) I have been re-jigging the old specification papers.

I have altered the questions from the original ECON3 paper in order to make them more closely resemble questions from the new 7136/1 Economics paper and have brought the number of marks awarded for each question into line with the new specification also.

Summary of changes: in Section A, the old question 1 for each context has been pulled apart to create a 'calculation' question (new question 1) and an 'explain from the data' question (new question 2); old question 2 has been tweaked to turn it into an 'explain with the use of a diagram' question (new question 3); old question 3 (the 25 mark question) remains largely unchanged as the new question 4. Questions in Section B are unaltered.

I have also created a markscheme for each 'new-style' paper, which brings together elements of the original mark scheme with the general marking methodology from the new specification.

PLEASE NOTE : These are not AQA publications; my alterations/adaptations are my invention and not endorsed by AQA. I have created them simply to give my students a better approximation of a new-style exam paper.
