A scheme of work planned around paper 1 question 4 of AQA’s current GCSE spec.
10 fully resourced lessons, all with starters, mains, plenaries and extension tasks. I have found that my students don’t know how to express an argument or have an opinion so I designed this. Includes references to the AOs and the exam mark scheme. Made to be taught at the end of year 9 but would also be suitable for year 10 at the start of the course. Easily adaptable for differentiation.
Students will be encouraged to evaluate different things including films, sweets, a talent show audition and objects before moving onto extracts. Extracts are taken from The Great Gatsby, Water for Elephants, The Life of Pi, Of Mice and Men, Wurthering Heights and The Hound of the Baskervilles.
