A 12 lesson fully planned and resourced unit of work based on teaching a play for AQA English Literature paper 2 ‘Modern Texts and Poetry’.
Planned for a middle ability year 9 class who have never studied modern drama but will be following An Inspector Calls in year 10. Meant to introduce them to the concept of setting, stage directions, character and contexts.
Texts covered include Hamilton, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Kindertransport, JB Priestley, Death of a Salesman and The Crucible.
All lessons include a starter, main activities, plenaries and extension tasks. Lots of reference to the AQA AOS and the mark scheme. Homework for the whole unit is also included. There is an assessment task at the start and end of the unit too.
