This is a revision resource for The AQA Anthology for English Literature short stories ‘Telling Tales’
The revision resource looks at the exam question ‘How do writers present conflict in ‘Chemistry’ and in one other story from Telling Tales?’ There is strong focus on the theme of androcentricity within both of the texts studied and how this can be ‘woven’ into the exam response. The revision lesson focuses on the following topics:

• Know your assessment objectives: what are you being asked to do?
• Plan your response: check you are referencing your assessment obs.
• Write your response
• Self-evaluate your response: check what you have included.
• Evaluate student response: how good is it?

The resource includes a self-assessment check list based upon the exam objectives which will provide a further opportunity to improve future responses to an exam question.

The resource demonstrates student responses from marked materials and asks students to consider where the response could be improved and what would need to be included to improve the response even further.
Also included are two extra revision lessons of how to comment upon structure and form within short stories.

The two extra lessons cover the following:

• Understand what constitutes as ‘form’ when analysing Literature.
• How to comment on the use of form and extend your analysis.
• How to improve your analysis, based on peer assessment.
