Compare how poets present the effects of conflict in ‘Exposure’ and in one other poem from ‘Power and conflict’.
Contains a full essay comparing both poems, written by an AQA examiner. Also includes the question paper, and suggestions for other points of comparison.
Not very good... definately wouldn't be grade 9, and would be near impossible to write in an exam. It hardly focuses on themes, and doesn't correspond with the mark scheme at all! It merely rambles on for 3 pages...

A completely unfair and inaccurate "review". Nowhere does the mark scheme for 8702/2 stipulate a requirement to discuss "themes", but rather, the 'writer’s methods' and the 'effects' of these methods, together with a 'critical, exploratory comparison', a 'judicious use of precise references' and a demonstration of the candidate having explored 'ideas/perspectives/contextual factors shown by specific, detailed links between context/text/task'. This essay definitely does all of that, and if you feel that it 'merely rambles' on, as opposed to fulfilling the assessment objectives, I would be happy to demonstrate how and why it does actually do this. Moreover, as there are no current grade boundaries for this paper (as of June 2017), let alone for a grade 9, I would be intrigued to know how you feel able to claim it would 'definitely' - please note the correct spelling; you would lose some AO4 marks for that typo, according to the mark scheme - not get that grade.
