NOTE: Alongside Scheme 1, this unit of work provides enough Paper 2 focus to cover approximately one whole term. It is not, however, necessary to cover Scheme 1 first; the two schemes are independent of one another.

A second challenging, rigorous and detailed unit focused upon AQA GCSE English Language Paper 2 (Writer's Viewpoints and Perspectives) exam to be sat from June 2017. This unit focuses upon the analysis of three pairs of literary non-fiction extracts, with a full Q1-5 provided for each pair, allowing students to practice exam-style questions throughout the unit. This culminates in a mock exam in the final week of the unit so that teachers can assess students' progress and areas for further development. The whole unit is punctuated by a wide range of key skills activities, along with a range of SPaG activities to strengthen student responses to both reading and writing questions.

This detailed and high quality unit includes:
* 26 lesson plans (with 13 differentiation strategies)
* 134 slide PowerPoint presentation (divided into lessons)
* Copies of all extracts for students, which include context and plenty of annotation space
* Annotated teacher copies of extracts, with terminology highlighted
* Two mock exams and associated inserts (one for class use, one as homework)

Unit's lessons include:
* Key information about the course, paper and assessment objectives
* Analysis of two non-fiction texts focused on education (Source A from 1869, Source B from 2006), with associated Q1-5
* Analysis of two non-fiction texts focused upon parenting (Source A from 2000; Source B from 1869), with associated Q1-5
* Analysis of two non-fiction texts focused upon power of the mind (Source A from 2014; Source B from 1890), with associated Q1-5
* Comparison planning grids for Q2 and Q4 - can be completed individually, in pairs, or in groups

* Key skills activities focused upon synthesis (Q2)
* Key skills activities focused upon language techniques (Q3)
