A3 Worksheet based on Matisse’s cut outs. Resource is useful for cover lesson in Art and Design or 3D design lesson surface decoration. Could also be a good intro to the subject of paper cutting and the artists latter work.

Range of tasks increases in difficulty. Starter and extension task provided. Reference made to positive and negative space, subject matter, simplification to abstraction, colour, line and layering to indicate depth.

Work does not suggest use of scissors as it is for cover but this would be the logical progression.
