Do you want to show students how Art education relates to the real world? This resource might help. Firstly you get 2 different schemes of work (2 different formats) which encourage students to engage in the built environment through drawing and mixed media work. Students get to learn about the rules of perspective through activities that have them recording built structures. They are then challenged to develop their own ideas using their new found 3D drawing skills. They are also engaged in the development of relief work with an architectural theme using cut card.
The two schemes are provided as PDFs.
Support is also provided through 7 demonstration videos. These cover the following.
2 videos on One Point Perspective
An Introduction to 2 Point Perspective
Draw Steps using Two Point Perspective
Draw a House using Two Point Perspective
3 Point Perspective (Aerial Perspective)
Relief Art using Card.
Also included is slideshow of 100 architectural images for inspiration.
We have included part of one of the videos in the preview section. All videos are presented by Mael Matthews, experienced Art teacher, Head of Department, Senior Art examiner, author and artists in his own right. We hope that this resource really help student see the importance of artistic skills in the world today … and might even help them decide on a future career in architecture!
