I use ‘‘Ask an expert’’ badges in lessons as a great way to challenge the most able and encourage students to ask each other for help.
How it works: once some students have completed a task, the teacher checks their answers and then the students become the experts. They take an expert badge and walk around the room helping other students with the task. I like to use lanyards to put the badge in, but it works the same if the students simply holds the expert badge.
