A lesson focused on the events surrounding the assassination of Archduke Franz-Ferdinand at Sarajevo in 1914, to help students understand the causes of the First World War. An imaginative and engaging lesson, designed to provide a creative and enjoyable investigation. The suggested activities are all differentiated to encourage access for all abilities. It is assumed that the longer-term causes of the war have been covered already. Relevant video, worksheet, and PowerPoint and lyrics are all provided (the plenary involves the teacher performing a rap song!)
