This is a lesson I adapted from Twinkl when I worked as a cover supervisor in a secondary special needs school. This was the second lesson (the first being the alliances, which is referenced in this lesson). The language is very simple and easy to follow.

It explains why there were tensions in Europe, and how Germany, Austria and Serbia-Bosnia had a tense relationship. It describes the events (link to a youtube video and there’s a little comic strip I found online). Then it goes on to ask about how the assassin and Duke are now perceived (who was in the right? etc) for some higher level thinking/debate.
