Based on the AQA GCSE Biology (Third Edition) scheme of work by Oxford University Press: B12.1 Controlling Body Temperature but can be used as a standalone lesson (with exception of final extension task which refers to questions in the textbook).

This resource includes a lesson powerpoint with information relating to the responses by the thermoregulatory centre to maintain a constant core temperature.
It comprises of 10 slides, with learning objectives and differentiated outcomes, a starter activity relating this lesson to past learning, information and questions on the thermoregulatory centre, as well as a final slide with a diagram that students may draw and annotate to summarise the learning. Answers to starter questions are included in notes section of powerpoint slides, while other answers are incorporated within the slides themselves.
