This 2 to 3 week Literacy unit for years 5 and 6 is based on/inspired by/ideal to accompany the IPC unit ‘Bake it!’. Focusing on a range of sentence and structure skills from the UK 2014 curriculum for years 5 and 6, it builds towards some SpaG-derived poetry tasks, text-structure-derived procedural/instructional texts and draws on Roald Dahl’s ‘Revolting Recipes’.
