Please ensure you can access the video before you get this resource. Updated 15/10/24: Now differentiated THREE WAYS! A very thorough, dramatized account of Bell’s early life and invention, covering: his mother’s deafness, AGB uses tapping to interpret for her; he realizes the connection between vibration and sound; early “speaking” machine; the telegraph; experimentation and the development of the telephone. “Watson, come here”.
20 questions for the c. 11-min film. Differentiated! All versions look similar, but “B” version has subtle clues, and “C” version requires pupils to cross out wrong answers, not write in correct ones. Questions right up to the end, no slack time! Creates a great intro / revision / summary resource. Answer sheet.Very easy to mark. .doc & .pdf for all files.
The film is available on You-Tube, but the BBC Teach site has perfect subtitles and extensive teacher notes, and ideas for further investigation. Please check that you can access the video before you download these sheets. All the links work when I upload. If my links no longer work, the videos may still be found elsewhere on YouTube etc.
