Bee Lady Biography Comprehension

These versions of a biography comprehension are intended for use on Bee Lady Day (May 13th), the day intended to commemorate Jean Bishop, who was an amazing fundraiser for ageUK in Hull. I have deliberately chosen to put these on here for free and so, if you choose to download, I would appreciate it if you could make a minimum £1 donation to ageUK Hull at your earliest opportunity.

There are different versions of the same comprehension depending on whether you wish pupils to write answers in books or on a given worksheet. A teacher’s answer sheet is also included.

1. Jean Bishop Biography – a short biography of Jean’s life and how she came to be known as the Bee Lady. (2 pages)
2. Jean Bishop Biography Questions – these 2 sheets comprise 15 questions relating to Jean Bishop’s life and fundraising activities with space for brief answers. There is also a follow up, extra activity included.
3. Jean Bishop Biography ANSWERS – these sheets provide teachers with answers to the above.
4. Jean Bishop Comp combined – These sheets combine the biography text with the questions and follow up activity for ease of use when answers are to be written in books.
