Welcome to the English Big Activity Book, designed specifically to engage learners from about Level 1 (Intermediate) upwards in dynamic and interactive English lessons. This extensive new collection offers a varied and interesting set of resources for practicing a wide range of English language skills, including grammar, reading, vocabulary building, and developing research skills.
The book is thoughtfully organized into subject areas, making it easy to navigate and find specific resources. Additionally, a comprehensive answer section is included, which provides notes on how to effectively use the material.
We have incorporated two special sections towards the back of the book. The first section features a collection of classroom games that have been tried and tested, ensuring they truly work in engaging learners. While some may be familiar, others are entirely original. It’s important to note that our goal in publishing descriptions of these games and activities is not to claim ownership of their invention, but to share effective ideas that receive positive responses from learners across various levels.
The second special section serves as a valuable reference, listing rhyming words and using the vowels and diphthongs from the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). These pages offer essential support for learners as they identify spelling patterns and connect words with the sounds of English.

I developed my own thinking scarves reading scheme as a replacement for the thinking hats reading scheme and I even converted a whole set of books which could be used with the scheme. I also created PowerPoint versions of a wide range of different "Can you spot it books" where you need to find all the different objects listed in the picture.
