Biology revision

Revision lesson – Biology content from GCSE specification sections 4.1 Cell Biology and 4.2 Organisation.

Complete lesson ready to use just download, print and go!

Designed for teachers to deliver (specialist and non-specialists) but I have found more & more students need to access resources independently so my lessons are structured in a way that students can navigate for remote learning or to catch up on missed content. Can also be used for a flipped learning approach.

A brief summary of the lesson content:
Warm up with maths skills question (practise common calculations mean and percentage change).
Keyword quiz – practise using essential biological keywords from unit 1 cell biology.
Recap the heart & coronary arteries (typically a challenging feature for students) and blood vessels - 4.2.2.2 The heart and blood vessels.
Create a mini mind map - 4.1.2 Cell division independent task.
Complete exam style question using mind map for support in needed.
Final task is an exam style question on osmosis – again this is a concept students struggle to explain well 4.1.3.2 Osmosis.

The PowerPoint is fun and interactive with a range of tasks to keep students engaged following the traditional starter, main, plenary format. There is also a worksheet to scaffold the classwork.
