A lesson that has students exploring 4 x articles based loosely on the theme of injustice/ inequality (tax evasion, fat suits, sexism and homelessness).
Students go through the texts in a carousal, highlighting unfamiliar vocabulary then using a dictionary or phone to find the definitions and writing these down.
The final task has them attempting to use the vocabulary learned on one of the topics addressed.
I did the lesson with a very able (grammar school) y8 group of boys.
Suitable for KS3 and KS4.
