Buried treasure digraph coins for sorting - Phonics phase 3 treasure hunt

Pack contains:

9 golden coins with attractive cartoon pictures for ‘sh’ words. 9 golden coins with attractive cartoon pictures for ‘ch’ words. 9 golden coins with attractive cartoon pictures for ‘th’ words. 9 golden coins with attractive cartoon pictures for ‘ng’ words. 4 large golden coins with ‘sh’, ‘ch’, ‘th’ and ‘ng’ sounds to decorate boxes, trays, sorting hoops or treasure chests.

My class have really enjoyed hunting around the classroom to find these coins and then deciding which digraph is contained within the picture on their treasure. We decorated two boxed to look like treasure chests and posted the laminated coins into the correct treasure chests after discussing them.

Can also be used in continuous provision as an independent sorting activity.
