To be used as a starter / plenary activity to develop thinking skills and application of knowledge. Students design and answer their own questions based on the picture - Differentiated by outcome. Example questions: 1) What fraction of the shape has been eaten? 2) What fraction would have to be added to make half a cake? 3) Using the cost of $6.50 on the cake box, what is the piece of cake worth left in the tray?

A very nice starter idea. This will challenge students in itself in that the higher achieving students can try and make trickier/more obscure questions.
