Capture the flag

Students will master operations with negative numbers while strategizing to collect as many flags as possible.

Materials Needed
Challenge Cards (each card contains 5 math problems)
Colored Flags (4 per team)

How to Play
Divide students into teams of 3-4 players. Each team gets 4 flags of their own color.
Each team receives a challenge card with 5 problems (involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division with negatives).
The team solves all 5 problems together. Once done, they check their answers.
If all answers are correct, the team steals a flag from another group and adds it to their collection.
If a mistake is found, the team must correct their errors before stealing a flag.
The game continues until a set time limit is reached.
The team with the most flags at the end wins!
