Three Xmas activities for 3 lessons, aimed at Y5 level. Covers N.C objectives Add and subtract numbers mentally with increasingly large numbers. Solve addition and subtraction multi-step problems in contexts. Measure and calculate the perimeter of composite rectilinear shapes in centimetres and metres. Complete, read and interpret information in tables, including timetables. Pupils should go beyond the measurement and money models of decimals, for example, by solving puzzles involving decimals.
Every activity is differentiated 3 ways to provide support and extra challenge. There is a recording sheet for each activity and all work is easy to edit, if needed. There are answers provided for activity 1 and 2, whereas activity 3 has multiple open ended answers. Each activity also has 3 ‘Greater depth’ challenges to encourage deeper learning.
