The teacher should say each word as the picture is shown to avoid confusion about what the picture is. The pictures are as follows: santa, reindeer, present, tree, bell & stocking.
This activity can be used to assess whether pupils can identify initial sound within words or can be used to assess whether children can write the letter to correspond with the sound. If doing the latter, each pupil should have their own whiteboard/paper on which they should write the letter, holding it up before the answer is revealed .
