This lesson covers the type of protein that enzymes are categorised into and teaches students how to describe and explain how enzymes work in terms of: the active site; the enzyme–substrate complex; lowering of activation energy, and enzyme specificity. The lesson then progresses into the differences between the lock-and-key hypothesis and the induced-fit hypothesis. Fully resources and exam questions.
