WALT: Identify and explain the factors affecting the diurnal and night time energy budgets

Lesson introduces atmospheric layers, energy budget diagram, review of convection/conduction/radiation and factors which affect the budget (albedo, surface absorption, latent heat, sensible heat, longwave radiation and incoming shortwave radiation). Tasks and explanations included for each.

Planned tightly in line with the CIE syllabus.

Tasks for students are clearly included and there is an additional slideshow with answers/tips for the teacher. The lesson is ready to teach and includes separate answer slides for the teacher.

This lesson was made during online learning but would not be time consuming to adapt for any environment.

I hope you find this useful and consider purchasing future lessons for this unit which I will make available soon. Feedback welcome and please leave a review!

Excellent resource. I wanted to update my slides after a few years of using the same ones. So good to have something planned with a fresh set of eyes. I'm sure the students will find them engaging too. I'd be interested in purchasing slides for the rest of this unit when they become available.
