The students will be able to recognize the rich history and Mexican traditions and honor the cultural celebration of Cinco de Mayo by creating traditional items that are used during the celebration as a singular piece of functional art. They will be able to shake the entire artwork and hear the sound of the maraca replicating mariachi music that gets played during the festivities. A learning objective, subject summary and application in real life, materials needed for each student and the step by step directions needed to create this lesson are all detailed in each of my lesson plans.
