Simple activity to get students talking, and understand a little more about what challenges individuals.
Teacher reads a list of statements, and students decide how the statement would make them feel:
Comfort - safe and comfortable, easy.
Challenge - uncomfortable, uneasy, nervous.
Panic - too scary, shut down, run away.
Adaptations: Students could be encouraged to draw an object relating to the statement rather than writing complex statements. More able students could also add their own examples.
