This lessons focus is on transmission of communicable diseases including cholera, Covid-19, Ringworm, HIV/AIDS as examples for AQA GCSE Biology. By having additional exampls, students gain skills in application of their knowlegde to new scenarios as is necessary for GCSE Examinations.
These lessons are all visual lessons which support all learners to access the curriculum, pushing students as well as scaffolding where appropriate.
The lesson follows AQA GCSE Biology specification (B1 - Organisation) with GCSE Exam questions as assessment for learning throughout, as well as a number of other fun and engaging activities to support learner agency and exam paper accessibility.
The lesson is an effective and balanced mixture of teacher-led explanation, student AFL, student exam questions and pair discussions.
