Compound Word Fun with Symbols

This resource is designed to support KS1 teachers in introducing compound words through engaging and interactive activities.
The set includes 10 pages of colour compound word cards, with 4 cards per page.
Each card features an image, such as a bowl of jelly and fish, which combine to form a compound word like “jellyfish” when placed together.
Other examples include “footprint,” “backpack,” and “horseshoe.”
The cards can be cut out and laminated for durability and word games.
Additionally, a word wall is included, displaying the names of all the compound words for children to match with the corresponding pictures.
This resource aids in developing vocabulary, enhancing word recognition, and promoting fun, hands-on learning in the classroom.
