Two worksheets regarding converging lenses and using the ray rules to find the location and nature of the images created by them.

Worksheet 1 - NOTES Ray diagram rules; the three rules are stated and students can annotate a converging lens diagram to illustrate that rule. I use this sheet for their notes.

Worksheet 2 - WS Converging lens ray diagrams; allows students to apply the three rules to cases with five different object locations (with respect to the focal length of the lens - >2F, 2F, >1F, 1F, <1F). Students then describe the nature of the image formed.

Students will require supervision for the cases of an object at F, and between F & the lens (a magnifying glass). This worksheet is a good opportunity for the students to apply the three ray rules, and is also a good teaching aid for the last two more difficult cases.

I use this resource for the Light topic of IGCSE Physics.
