Cut up the letter sound cards, put them into piles and ask children to select consonants or vowels.
Some of the most common letters are repeated more times, but obviously you can easily adapt what you include.
Pupils are challenged to either create the longest word they can or to create as many words as possible. I gave 1 point for every 2-4 letter word and more points for longer words.
** A phonics version is also available, with grapheme cards, including two letter graphemes as well as single letter correspondences.
