Creative writing and drawing activities for KS2

These KS2 Resources are based around the story Forbidden, a powerful tale of friendship, cultural taboos and prejudice, set in India. The resources are created by expert educators to make the most of the rich content offered in this book.

Written by Anjali Tiwari and illustrated by Danica Da Silva Pereira, Forbidden tells the story of two girls with very different lives who are drawn into a friendship, bound by their desire to break the taboos that divide them. All our resources have been designed to improve the access to, confidence in and enjoyment of reading, creative writing, illustration and visual literacy. They can be used to support the national curriculum, and cover a wide range of subjects including PSHE, Science, History, Art and Design as well as Literacy and English. They also help teachers support pupils’ wellbeing and their learning about topics including disability, activism, multiculturalism, LGBTQIA+ community as well as women in the STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics] industry.

The resources provide creative, fun activities and prompts for KS2 teachers creating lesson plans. All the materials can be adapted to suit the needs, interests and abilities of individual classes.
