This card sort is designed to give students an overview of the course. I have used this resource successfully with a range of ability groups.
Lower Ability Card Sort uses different fonts to break down the crime, punishment, law enforcement method and context in each time period.
Ideas:

- Students to decide which time periods are which colour and to build a rough timeline.
- Within each time period, students should sort the cards into crimes, punishments and law enforcement methods.
- Students could pull out changes and continuities across the periods

Students to use it as a checklist.
C
Students to make links between different cards e.g. as a thinking quilt.
