Welcome to the GriffinOT scissor skill worksheets. These worksheets are all designed Kim Griffin, an occupational therapist with 20 years’ experience supporting teachers and families to help their children
succeed at school and home.
This programme is broken into three booklets. Within the booklets, the worksheets become progressively harder. Booklet one is designed for
children who need to learn how to hold scissors, paper and to make snips.
Booklet two builds on these skills and includes increasingly complex shapes.
The shapes in booklet three become more complex and it includes cutting
inside shapes too. Not all children need to start at booklet one. Children
can start at the booklet that best suits their needs.
Booklet 1 is best suited for children who do not hold scissors correctly and who can not cut along straight lines.
It includes:
- Tips for teaching pre-scissor skills
- Snipping
- Straight lines
- Beginner shapes
- Thick lines
There are 58 worksheets and 10 pre-scissor skill activity recommendations.
