This CVC Short Vowel /ă/ words Kaboom game is a fun and engaging way of reinforcing phonics and is also great for reading intervention.
Excellent for pairs or small group.
This resource contains 20 CVC short vowel /ă/ words in PDF format plus Kaboom! cards.

Prep
Simply print, laminate and cut out the cards

Direction for CVC Short Vowel /ă/ words KABOOM
1.Shuffle and place cards in a bucket, or in a bag that they cannot see through or place them face down on the table.
2.Student take turns selecting a card and read out the word on the card
3.If they respond correctly, they keep the card otherwise it is returned to the bucket, bag or table and the other player gets a turn.
4.If a student draws a KABOOM! card, they must return all their cards to the bucket, the bag or the table.
5.Student with the most cards at the end wins.
