D&T Textiles

This unit provides the children to understand how textiles are joined together to make a bag. The children will have to opportunity to investigate their won school bags and look at how they are constructed. the children will then be shown how to sew back stitch. Using this new skill the children will then create a drawstring bag can be adapted to suit any topic.
The intended knowledge document makes it easy for teachers to assess if the children are progressing in their knowledge throughout the unit.
