Descriptive Writing Margin guide.
Saves time/ teacher’s voice and a good reminder for students of things to include in their descriptions.
This could be stuck in the margin of their exercise book for pupils to refer to when writing their descriptions.
I found that my pupils were not planning effectively and ensuring they had a variety of discourse markers and range of sentence types/techniques included throughout so I made this to help.
Used for AQA paper 1 section b - but will work well for KS3 too.
Can be quite prescriptive for some but most seem to appreciate the hints as they work through their descriptions.
I have had some great examples of writing using these, leave me some feedback if this works for you too.
