‘Have a Hart for Art’ (pun on ‘Hart’, referring to Tony Hart), is useful for exploring descriptive writing devices, and is particularly enjoyable when undertaken outside for the drawing and annotation (i.e. planning) stage. The write-up of the setting can then be completed in the classroom. The ‘Describing a Setting’ worksheet is a useful revision tool and could be used for timed assessment response stimulus.
