
A collection of lessons for the Power and Developments component of Unit 3 (Global) in the Edexcel Politics course.
The workbook is designed for students to conduct flipped learning pre-reading ahead of each lesson, preparing them for the accompanying lessons.
Lesson 1 introduces students to the relevant concept and includes a cart sort as well as a case study task.
Lesson 2 reviews the BRIC nations and the different statuses of global power.
Lesson 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3 all review different aspects off polarity. These are task-focused drawing upon standard teaching resources. These lessons may not support you if you do not already possess the standard textbooks.
Lesson 4 reviews the concept of the Nation State.
Lesson 5 covers nation states and non-state actors, with an accompanying recall quiz (answers included).
Lessons 6 & 7 review the different systems of government.
Lesson 8 focuses on Fukuyama to analyse the implications of liberalism and the changing global landscape.
Lesson 9 follows this with a study of Huntington.
