Digits Represent Numbers

This lesson plan aligns with Oklahoma academic standard K.N.1.6, in which students will be able to read, write, and discuss digits that represent whole numbers 0-10. To begin, show your students the sheets made for each digit 0-10. After discussing each number, count to that number so your students can have practice. Allow your students to trace the digits to practice handwriting. Finally, assess your students by having them write that digit and the number of dots represented by that digit after you speak that number aloud. Boxes to write the number and draw dots have been provided.
