This SoW was intended to introduce students to the conventions of Dystopian fictions while practising key Language and Structure analysis skills and creative writing. By learning about the origins and common features of dystopia, this SoW additionally aims to build student’s understanding that genres exist in literature and can be recognised by common features - this should assist discussions of form in poetry, discussions of common ideas in GCSE literature and equip students to make more effective predictions about new texts.
