EAL assessment to check the proficiency level of English of secondary school students whose first language is not English (EAL students). The levels used in the test are in line with the new DfE codes to assess EAL learners.
The test allows to assess students who have just started education in the British system and have little knowledge of English (New to English, Code A), students who communicate in English mainly for social purposes (Early acquisition, Code B), and those who have started developing competence in English at the academic level (Developing competence, Code C).
