Focused editing stations for children. Children focus on certain elements of their writing and then teacher can then give them final focus for their writing- hopefully by this stage, the writing will have been up-leveled a lot.
Children have found this fun and engaging for what can be seen as a ‘pulling teeth’ task. I have presented children directly with tickets- telling them where their focus needs to be. I have also ticked the focus on the ticket as part of ‘marking’ their work- children then go over specific elements of their work.
