A quick look at the electrolysis of brine. This is aimed at year 10 HAPs, designed to be completed in a single lesson (45 mins). Could be bulked out with a practical of electrolysing brine or can be used as theory to aid revision/consolidation.
Independent work - pupils watch a Fuse Schools video and then answer questions to explore electrolysis of brine, including uses of products.
Requires previous understanding of writing (balanced) half equations for reactions at the electrodes, basic electrolysis and an understanding of reactivity at the electrodes.
