The lesson has three outcomes:
- Describe Raleigh’s attempt at colonising the New World
- Explain reasons why early attempts failed
- Compare the achievements of Raleigh and Drake and explain the better ‘sea dog’
Activities include retrieval noughts and crosses, information sheet with questions, source work, creating a statue on the better sea dog and Splat!.
