English GCSE Language Paper 1 Extract Analysis The Book of Fairy Tales Angela Carter Gothic

This extract gives students a structured exam style paper. Activities are broken down into steps, giving weaker students the opportunity to access a challenging text. The text gives questions which follow the style of Language Paper 1 for AQA - analysing language, writing about structure and evaluating a section of the extract. It can easily be modified for any other exam board. The story is based around a modern retelling of Little Red Riding Hood

The subject matter is Gothic in content and can be used to introduced younger, more able students to access a Gothic text in a GCSE style format.

There are writing activities to include vocabulary building, as well as the usual exam style writing activity, with 2 writing options, one of which is a picture stimulus task.
